Visiting with a dog outside the permitted window?
If you're travelling with a dog during the assistance-dogs-only period (April–October), you'll need to plan around it — a dog can't be left unattended, and the castle doesn't offer on-site kennelling. Options include:
- Taking turns exploring the castle while one person waits outside with the dog in Castle Square (a public, dog-friendly space).
- Visiting the free-to-view Caernarfon town walls together instead, which don't carry the same restriction as the castle interior.
- Planning your castle visit for November–March if a dog will be with you throughout, when leaded dogs are welcome on ground-floor areas.
